Manage Water Leaks – Save Water, it’s a simple fact! Water leaks in South Africa are responsible for the loss of 37% of our drinking water.
Our research shows that schools in underserved communities lose 800 000 litres of drinking water per annum through water leaks. This is enough water for 730 people every day for a year.
Lack of funds to detect leaks and maintain school facilities, and a lack of awareness of water conservation are some of the contributing factors. Our work focuses on assisting schools to maintain their water infrastructure while providing skills development support, education and awareness of water use efficiency.
